Computer forensics is a career field that focuses on the investigation and analysis of computer-related criminal activity (sometimes called cybercrime). The computer forensics program at Kaplan University is designed to help you acquire the knowledge and technical skills required to pursue a career in this highly technical career field.

 Computer Forensics Program 

The computer forensics program offers classroom instruction and hands-on training in several essential areas of computer investigation and analysis, including:
  • Applying computer and network security measures
  • Collecting and analyzing computer-based evidence
  • Recovering and decrypting data
  • Ensuring the integrity of the chain of evidence
  • Troubleshooting and repairing hardware and software

 Real-World Externship Experience 

Prior to graduation, you will be required to complete an externship to gain on-the-job experience in a real-world work environment.

 Career Opportunities 

Upon successful completion of the program, you will be awarded an associate of applied science degree. This program is designed to lead to entry-level employment in national and local security, data and network security in public and private sectors, intrusion detection facilities, and various careers in the judicial system.
